Landmannalaugar is a nature reserve in the Highlands of Iceland, famous for its geothermal hot springs, colorful rhyolite mountains, and diverse hiking trails. It is part of the Fjallabak Nature Reserve and the Torfajökulseldstöð volcanic system. Landmannalaugar means “the people’s pools” in Icelandic, because of the natural hot springs that have been used by travelers for centuries.
