Jezerní sla? belongs to the upland peatlands located on the plateau of the Sumava Plains between the settlements of Kvilda and Horska Kvilda. The local climate also helped the creation of the bog. This is one of the coldest places in the Czech Republic. The lowest recorded temperature was -41.6 °C on January 30, 1987.
