The palace served as a strong fortification to protect the people of the city and pilgrims visiting the region. The ruler of the palace was even called the “Prince of Pilgrims” at the time. The palace serves as a sanctuary and strong fortress to protect these pilgrims entering the city of Fayed. Evidence of the distinctive architecture can be found among the ruins of the palace today.
