Karimkhan Citadel is a citadel located in the center of Shiraz. This citadel was built during the reign of the Zandiya dynasty, and because Karimkhan Zand chose Shiraz as the capital and this place as his place of life, it became known as the Karimkhani citadel. During the reign of the Qajar dynasty, the citadel was used as the residence of Persian princes, and from 1310, it was used as a municipal prison. This citadel is managed under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is being restored. This citadel is also used as a museum
