Kanafah, also spelled kunafeh or kunafah is a Palestinian cheese pastry soaked in sweet, sugar based syrup, typical of the regions belonging to the former Ottoman Empire. It is a specialty of the Levant and adjoining areas of Egypt and Turkey.
