James Stewart, Oscar-winning actor, and wife Gloria Stewart, arrive on the red carpet for the American Film Institute`s 10th anniversary gala at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on November17, 1977. Stewart was a decorated veteran of World War Two. He was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, presented to him by his Hollywood pal, President Ronald Reagan. Stewart died on July 2, 1997 in Beverly Hills, California at the age of 89. Gloria Stewart died on February 16, 1994 in Los Angeles at the age of 75.
