Two rock formations jutting upwards from the surrounding plains of western Nebraska near the the city of Scotts Bluff. Named by pioneers travelling the nearby Oregon Trail, these formations signaled the end of the easy travelling and the beginning of the much harder trek through the Rocky mountains. The rocks can be seen for miles in all directions on such a clear blue sky day.
