Rome’s National Gallery of Modern Art Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna was founded in 1883 to house contemporary works of art of Italy. The current building, the Palazzo delle Belle Arti Palace of Fine Arts, at Via delle Belle Arti 113 was designed by Italian architect Cesare Bazzani. It was completed between 1911 and 1915. The facade features friezes by Ermenegildo Luppi, Adolfo Laurenti, and Giovanni Prini. The four prominent sculptures on top of the building were created by Adolfo Pantaresi and Albino Candoni.
