Most of the Italians who came to and settled in California were the Northern Italians and Swiss Italians. One of those immigrants was Andrea Sbarboro, who established an agricultural colony around grapes, in Northern California because he wanted to help his fellow Italian and Swiss Italian immigrants, have employment, and soon became very successful.
The building survived the 1906 earthquake very well, only to have to face prohibition during the 1920`s, and the building was then used by the Golden Gate Milk Products Company.
Today the building is offices and part of the Levi Plaza, as seen 22 June 2022.
