Dolmabahce - the palace of of the Ottoman Sultans on the European side of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. It was built in 1842-53 years. for Abdul-Majid I, who wanted to have a baroque palace, able to compete with European elegance in the residences of the XVIII century. After the fall of the monarchy in the palace settled Atatürk; Here he died on November 10, 1938. Palace museum remained until September 2007, when the Turkish parliament returned his political function, making Dolmabahce official residence of the Prime Minister in Istanbul.
