Isola dei pescatori, Fishermen island, Lake Maggiore, Italy. With its population of 32 is inhabited all year round. While the traditional occupation of fishing still exists, tourism has become for the island the main economic source. The image was taken from Stresa, one of the italian lake district touristic pearls with spectacular views as well as areas of historical and architectural interest. It is located about 90 km north-west of Milan, making it an ideal destination for a one-day trip from the city.
