Also known as Jaca Cotton, Java Kapok, Silk Cotton and Samauma. Ithas cotton like like fluff obtained from the seedpods. The tree is cultured for it`s seed fibre, particularly in South-East Asia . Seed oil can also be pressed from the seeds and has an iodine value of 85-100. Has potential as biofuel.
