Naturalist and explorer Friedrich Heinrich Alexander von Humboldt (1769 - 1857) lived in this house in Havana during his first stay from December 19, 1800 to March 15, 1801. In addition to a series of scientific investigations and the expansion of his collections, during this period he was also engaged, among other things, in the calculation and determination of the geographical center of the city.
