To be precise, on August 16 1945, Sukarno and Hatta were kidnapped or exiled by a youth group called & x22;Menteng 31& x22;. This exile was carried out before the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence on August 17 1945 because of differences of opinion between the old and the young. This house is now a cultural heritage site. Until now, the owner of this house is the Djiaw Kie Siong family.
