Pictured is the entrance to a house in Chefchaouen, a city in northwest Morocco noted for its buildings in shades of blue. Three steps lead up to the wooden front door. A large mosaic of colorful tiles adorns the front facade beside the door. Chefchaouen is known as `The Blue Pearl` and `the Blue City` of Morocco. The city was founded in 1471 as a small kasbah to defend against the Portuguese invasions of northern Morocco.
