The invention of the hot air balloon is attributed to two French brothers, Joseph Michel and Jacques Étienne Montgolfier: in 1782 it was Joseph who had the intuition and involved his brother in his experiments and technical flight tests of a silk cube heated by a flame. Even before the end of the year, they gave birth to their hot air balloon and in June 1783 they officially presented it to the public, arousing much interest and curiosity.
