On my China journey, I visited two Buddhist temples in Beijing: the well-known Lama temple and the less well-known but equally magnificent Confucius temple. As different as they were, both were Buddhist temples. The Lama Temple is Beijing's largest Buddhist temple, therefore it is always filled with tourists and pious Chinese burning incense and worshiping their gods. I'm not sure if I enjoyed it there or not. Of course, the structures seemed stunning, and it was fascinating to witness some of the Buddhist rites, which likely reeked of corporate greed.
