A sign stands at the entrance of the historic Malaga Inn, built in 1862, Feb. 4, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama. The inn was originally built by two brothers-in-law, Isaac Goldsmith and William Frohlichstein, as identical Italianate townhomes. Some say the boutique hotel is haunted, and tunnels beneath one of the buildings suggest they were used as hiding places by Confederate soldiers.
