Operating from 1771-1883, Hopewell laid the foundation for the transformation of the United States into an industrial giant. The park is 848 acres with restored furnaces, workshops and homes of the era. In 1776-77 approximately 100 great guns were cast at Hopewell Furnace and accepted by the Continental Navy for use in the American Revolution.
