A Vermont man attending a pro-second amendment rally holds a sign while listening to a speaker during the Guns Across America event, one of fifty events planned in state capitols nation-wide on Saturday. Many protesters were drawn to the event in opposition to a bill, S.32 introduced by Vermont State Senator Philip Baruth. Baruth withdrew the bill after widespread criticism from the citizens of a small rural state that has the highest rate of firearms ownership per capita, the least restrictive gun laws in the United States and the lowest rate of violent crime and firearms violence in the country.
