The builder Haberditz built the summer hunting lodge for Jan Vojtech Cernin between 1784 and 1789, who served as the highest hunter of the Bohemian Kingdom at the court of Emperor Joseph II. The family had no heirs, the property was bequeathed to his great nephew Kristian Vincenc Valdstein.
