Green revolution is one of the illuminated light projects at the Amsterdam Light Festival. As of 2012, incandescent lighting has been banned from the EU. Almost 20% of all electricity in the world is consumed by lighting. In the old fashioned incandescent lighting, just 5% of the energy was used for actual light, which is why LED is the new future. The Green Revolution is a manifest of the incandescent lightbulb versus LED. Huge incandescent lighbulbs made of Perspex are illuminated by LED. On the floor, LEDs are placed in the shape of an illuminated circuit board. When the lights go on and off and change color, an enchanting scene is created. Information about incandescent lighting and LED is available on the illuminated information signs.
