Within the palace complex are several impressive buildings including Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) A royal chapel, Wat Phra Kaeo contains a small and beautiful Emerald Buddha, dating back to the 14th century and is greatly revered. The robes on the Buddha are changed with the seasons by HM King of Thailand and forms an important ritual in the Buddhist calendar.
