Golyama Kamchiya is a river in Northeastern Bulgaria, Sliven region - Kotel municipality, Targovishte region - Omurtag municipality, Shumen region - Varbitsa, Veliki Preslav, Shumen and Smyadovo municipalities and Varna region - Dulgopol municipality, a left tributary of the Kamchia river. Its length is 199 km, which ranks it 11th among the rivers of Bulgaria. After meeting with Luda Kamchiya, it continues its journey with only the name Kamchiya and after another 46 km of road to the east flows into the Black Sea through the Kamchiya Valley. It is our largest river flowing into the sea. It is navigable in its lower reaches and boat trips are a major attraction for tourists in the summer.
