Golden Zlatý most is a bridge over the Malše in ?eské Bud?jovice at the end of Dr. Stejska connects the city center with its southern part registered in the Central List of Cultural Monuments Zlatý most The structure crossing the bed of the Malše river at the end of the street Dr. Stejskala and connecting both parts of Zátkov embankment. Other names - Krumlovský Linecký It was probably created at the same time as the founding of the city, and the road leading to Rožnovská brány led through it. The last part of the bridge in front of the gate was modified as a drawbridge, while the bridgehead on the left bank was secured by a special fortress element, the barbican, in the 16th and 17th centuries. The great importance that the inhabitants of ?eské Bud?jovice attached to the bridge, over which merchants arrived in the direction of Linz and brought significant profits to the city, was reflected in the name Zlatý. The wooden bridge structure, resting on two piers, often had to be repaired or replaced. In 1881, it was replaced by an iron structure, manufactured by the Pražská strojírenská joint-stock company from Libno. From 1910, a regular tram line ran over the Zlatý most, the operation of which was limited due to the reduced load-bearing capacity of the bridge. In 1915, the firm Brat?i Prášilová from Prague's Libna delivered a new, more massive structure with two characteristic riveted arches, which has a span of 40.2 m. After the opening of the Krumlov Bridge (1954), the traffic load on the Golden Bridge was eased. In 2001, the Golden Bridge was completely reconstructed at a cost of 19 .5 million crowns. The latest modifications were made in connection with the 2002 floods.
