The 2007 Tour de France winner finished the three-week race one minute and 57 seconds ahead of Italy's Riccardo Ricco according to provisional results. Marzio Bruseghin, also of Italy, was third at 2:54. Marco Pinotti, who rides for High Road, won the final stage - a 28.5-kilometer or 17.7-mile, time trial from Cesano Maderno to Milan - in 32:45. Pinotti's teammate Tony Martin was second, 7 seconds back.
