Event: Giro d'Italia Race in Milan Date: 17th May, 2009 The Giro d'Italia stage in Milan was supposed to be a showcase event but it finally turned out to be a day of protest since the riders refused to race, protesting the danger of the Milano circuit and the risks of the previous stages. In the first laps they mantained a slow pace, but then they increased it in the final laps. The Race was won by Cavendish, of the team Columbia-Highroad. In this photo: the group of cyclists just after the start of the race. Di Luca is on the right, wearing the pink T-shirt which identifies the leader of the Giro.
