The Manila shawl is a complement of clothing usually associated with the female dancers of flamenco. His name is associated with the port of Manila (Philippines), where the Spanish colony landed goods brought from the Far East during the sixteenth century. In fact the origin of this garment is in China where they were engaged in silk and hand embroidered flowers and birds generally.
