On 10 November 1985, the enormous volume of water broke the rock and earth embankment, and inundated much of the town. The town disappeared. For 1986, the town had 4 m of water in the streets, arriving in 1993 to over 10 m, December 4, 2010 in Epecuen, Argentina.
