An African Striped Deer grazes slowly along the tree line of the Toronto Zoo. In natural surroundings they occupy savanna areas with Acacia and Comiphora shrubs. Predominantly inhabiting the lowland forests of West Africa and Zaire to southern Sudan or or highland forest of Kenya and in the Congo. Eating herbs, bamboo, shrubs and bushes.
