Fountain Hills is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, on the eastern edge of the Phoenix urbanized area. It is 31 miles (50 km) northeast of downtown Phoenix. This house - on top of a hill in Fountain Hills - uses a shade of ocher, a "desert color", for walls and roof tiles. Hues of brown, orange, and yellow - earth colors - seem to be prevalent in many residential areas of Arizona. The idea is - maybe - blending in with the environment. The rooftops - in a way - trace the shape of the far away Four Peaks and the Mazatzal Mountain Range.
