Stock Photo: Fortified Church In Transylvania

In the center of Cristian village, there is a fortified saxon church. Intial was built in romanic style, but with gothic sculptural elements, which tell us that was dependingh by a cistercian workshop (Carta monastery). This elements certified that the church is from first half of XIV century. In the first half of XIX century the church was rebuild in a neoclassical style (transylvanian specific), after a partial demolition. The fortified walls were built in the XV century.
