Designed by noted architect Douglas Ellington and built in 1925-1927, the same architect who designed Asheville High School. In an Art Deco design influence the two-story, domed, polygonal brick building stands out as you drive Asheville hwy 240. The Sacred Garden an outdoor sanctuary giving members of their congregation and the broader community a place for prayer, reflection, renewal, and the celebration of life. A place to worship, to slow down, and to enjoy beauty around them touched by God. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
