This amazing fish is sometimes seen on some of our shores, near seagrasses and coral rubble. It was previously called Chaetodoerma penicilligera. It is sometimes also called the prickly, tasselled or leafy filefish. To about 31cm, those seen about 8-10cm. Body more disk-shaped (circular). Distinguished by thick feathery extensions all over the body including the dorsal spine, dark stripes along the sides of the body, sometimes with short bright blue lines. The fish may be greenish, bluish or purplish.
