The most interesting feature of the Guadix area in Andalusia in the south of Spain is that almost half of the inhabitants of this town live underground, in what is known as cave houses. The cave-houses in the jagged ochre terrain are in stark contrast with the buildings at the background, like the tower of the Cathedral.
