The work continues well on the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest that is scheduled to take place on the 26th May in Azerbaijan. The Eurovision venue is the Crystal Hall and is nearing complete with the fit out and access roads taking shape. The old naval ship yards have almost gone but some old vessels are reluctant to move out. The boulevard is being extended from the city to connect up with the Crystal Hall. All this next to one of the world’s largest flag pole that flies’ a gigantic Azerbaijan flag. The Azerbaijanis have built something from nothing and the buzz here in Baku is that of excitement with the country looking forward to hosting this prestigious event. This is yet another exciting achievement in a country rebuilding after 70 years of Soviet rule.
