It is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family Euphorbiaceae, native to Madagascar, but it is commonly grown in warmer climates as an ornamental. Cabo San Lucas is a resort town at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, in the state of Baja California Sur.
