行經在綿長的台11線上，芭崎瞭望台可以說是此路最美的「轉捩點」。從花蓮市駕車經過此處的髮夾彎時，所看到的風景從兩旁的翠綠山林，頓時轉為一片廣大的太平洋，海岸山脈巍峨聳立；走入此瞭望台向東方眺望，壯闊的太平洋的海水湛藍得足以讓人忘卻這一路的辛勞，向南也可以俯瞰迷人的磯崎灣，涼爽的海風陣陣的吹來，是否想在此打個盹呢？此休息區除了涼亭.洗手間外,還設有借問站及小賣部, 各式的原住民手工藝品和涼水甜點可以讓你補充能量增加旅途的回憶。另外，觀景台下方，東管處於此設置有一長約100公尺之棧道，棧道終點為涼爽的林蔭草地平台，遊客可在此休憩、乘涼，聆聽山林悅耳的蟬鳴鳥叫。
