Erice is an historical city located in western Sicily. The ancient name of Erice was Eryx, and its foundation was associated with the eponymous Greek hero Eryx. The main cathedral of Erice is The Mother Church, on Via Carvini, is essentially a fourteenth-century proto-Gothic structure whose style reflects certain Romanesque influences.
