Pictured is the equestrian monument representing the Victorious Country in the Resurgence square outside Saint Peter's Gate on the southern side of Lucca, Italy. The work in bronze is at the top of a high local sandstone pedestal and is the work of the Lucchese sculptor Alfredo Angeloni, inaugurated in 1930. The high reliefs on the base depict the Fallen for the Fatherland to the east and a gladiator defending himself to the west.
