Emigrant Lake is a reservoir located 5 miles southeast of Ashland, Oregon at the southern end of the Rogue Valley. After a couple years of drought the lake reveals some interesting geography. A cairn is a man-made pile (or stack) of stones raised for a purpose, usually as a marker or as a burial mound.
