Based on the words of the Executive Director of the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), Fabby Tumiwa said that it was not actually the electrical cables that were causing the chaos. According to him, what makes the cables on the streets chaotic is the large number of fiber optic cables from various internet providers that are installed haphazardly. In addition, several internet cables that are no longer in use are left attached to poles. Regarding underground cables, Fabby Tumiwa said that there are actually several places in Indonesia that place underground cables. For example, in the Lippo area, Jakarta and an elite housing complex in Bandung, all of which have voltages of up to 150 kilovolts.
