Built in the French Second Empire architecture style between 1871 and 1888, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) houses offices for White House staff. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1969. In 1972, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites.
