This clock, above the towns Eastgate, dates from 1899 and celebrates the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria two years earlier. The clock was designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. The whole structure, the clock and the gateway it is on, have been designated as a Grade I listed building.
