This species of swallowtail Papilio Glaucus is native to eastern North America. It is one of the familiar butterflies in the United States. It flies from spring to fall. Common habitats include forests, fields, rivers, creeks and roadsides. The male is yellow with four black tiger stripes on each forewing. The outer edge of the is black with a row of yellow spots. The veins are marked with black. The female is the larger of the sex. They feed on the nectar of flowers.
