American stage, screen and tv actress, Eartha Kitt, participates in a discussion at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in January, 1978, about her starring role in the musical Timbuktu! A noted civil and human rights activist, Kitt was a renowned singer and cabaret star as well. She died on Christmas Day, 2008 at the age of 81.
