An eagle owl(Bubo bubo) is perching on the trunk with one eye opened.The eagle owl is a large bird of the family Owlidae in the order Owliformes. It is one of the larger owls in the world. Eagle owls are found throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Widely distributed in China, it has been found in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning in Northeast China, as well as Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Guangxi, Yunnan, Tibet, and other places. The eagle owl mainly inhabits mountainous forests, plains, wilderness, forest edge shrubs, sparse forests, as well as exposed high mountains and cliffs. It feeds on agricultural voles, rabbits, and pheasants, and sometimes also eats frogs, snakes, and lizards.
