Dunnet head lighthouse is one of 200 dotted around Scotland’s wild coastline. It marks the most northerly point in Britain. Just 20 metres high but 105 metres above sea level. 2.35 miles from John O’Groats and 6.75 miles across the Pentland Firth to Orkney. Operated by Northern lighthouse. Designed by Robert Stevenson and built in 1831.
