Photos of the fourth annual Dominican-American Parade of Hudson County as it made its way down Bergenline Avenue in West New York, Guttenberg and Union City. The parade included festively decorated floats, members of the U.S. Armed Forces and government officials, including Union City Mayor and State Sen. Brian P. Stack, Hudson County freeholder Jose Munoz, and Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari. The parade is held each year to celebrate the Dominican Republic’s “Restoration of Independence,†a holiday which commemorates the nation gaining its independence from Spain in the late 1890s.
