In mountaineering, the stacked stones are built by hikers to indicate the route where signs are lacking. These rock piles are called Cairns (Italian: ometto di sassi). Landscape in the picture: Monte Mondeval and Piz del Corvo seen from Forcella Giau, near to Giau Pass (Italian: Passo di Giau) is a beautiful high mountain pass in the Dolomites, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Belluno, Italy.
